Saints LB Dan Morgan Set To Retire

Former Carolina Panthers and current New Orleans Saints linebacker Dan Morgan is reportedly set to finally retire because of continued injuries.

Morgan has suffered multiple concussions over the span of his seven year career and signed with New Orleans last year after tearing his Achilles tendon in 2007.

He retired before the 2008 season began citing problems with injuries but decided to give it another go after the 2008-09 season ended.

Morgan’s decision was announced by his agent in several Twitter posts earlier today.

Dan Morgan has informed the Saints that he has decided to retire due continued injuries. Dan would like to thank the Saints for the chance to come back this year, but injuries would not let him continue his career. His decision is final and he will be moving on to focus on his restaurant business in Charlotte. Dan also wants to be able to spend more time with his wife and children,” Rosenhaus reported over a span of three Tweets.

In his career, Morgan recorded 386 total tackles, 7 sacks, 5 interceptions, and defended 12 passes.

Saints officials are not available for comment at this time.
